ISO 45001 is the international standard for occupational health and safety. It is the certification least likely to be mentioned in a furniture advertisement, and the one we are most direct about.
A furniture workshop contains saws, presses, spray booths, solvents and heavy panels. The standard requires us to identify those hazards, control them, train the people working around them, and review what happens when something goes wrong. Machine guarding, dust extraction, ventilation, protective equipment and clear responsibility are part of the daily routine rather than an annual inspection.
There is a practical connection to the furniture itself. Skilled upholsterers and carpenters take years to train, and they stay where the work is safe and organised. The consistency of our finishing is largely the consistency of the same experienced hands.
Craftsmanship is a group of people. Looking after them is not separate from the work.
